Jack Conrad

President and CEO

Jack ConradWith more than 36 years of business and leadership experience, Jack Conrad is a Managing Director in Devonshire Investors, the private equity arm of Fidelity Investments. In this capacity he has served in general management and finance roles at the operating company and holding company levels. 

Before rejoining Veritude in February 2008, Conrad held senior leadership positions in several of Devonshire Investors’ current and former operating businesses including BostonCoach, HR Logic, Community Newspaper Company and Veritude, where he was interim President and CEO in 2005. He also has served as Chief Financial Officer of Devonshire Investors. His earlier years with Devonshire Investors were spent as a senior member of its leveraged acquisition team, focusing on strategy, operations and acquisition integration with several of its operating companies.

Prior to Devonshire, Conrad held senior general management positions at both large corporations and smaller entrepreneurial companies. A graduate of the U.S. Naval Academy, he holds a Master of Business Administration from Northeastern University.

Thomas (Tom) E. Hart

Executive Vice President, Operations and Technology Group

Tom HartWith broad global experience in administration, operations, and technology, Tom Hart holds responsibility for all staffing-related activities for Veritude’s clients. He also oversees the company’s implementation services team, which ensures a positive onboarding experience for new clients, as well as Veritude’s IT function, with staff responsibility in both the U.S. and Bangalore, India.

Before joining Veritude, Hart was a senior executive for Paris-based HR Access Solutions, a Fidelity Strategic Investments portfolio company. His responsibilities included contract management, designing, implementing and managing the IT strategy for the business, implementation of HR Access Solutions software within numerous Fidelity businesses and locations worldwide, and the development and implementation of an outsourcing back-office infrastructure to support a new service offering.

Earlier in his career, he was the chief operating officer and, subsequently, president of Advisor Technology Services LLC.  There, Hart gained extensive experience managing customer relationships, IT strategy, marketing and sales, and packaging and delivery of trust and investment management software products. He has also held several senior management roles in the IT and Systems groups of the Fidelity Retail organization, was a senior vice president at Boston Safe Deposit & Trust/Mellon Bank, and worked at Fidelity Investments as a programmer and project manager. He began his career as a software engineer at EDS.

He has a bachelor’s of arts degree from the University of Maine, Orono and conducted his graduate studies in public administration at Marquette University.

Julio Mazzarella

Chief Financial Officer

Julio MazzarellaAn experienced finance executive, Julio Mazzarella has international experience in both Fortune 500 and smaller entrepreneurial companies across the technology, consumer products and health care sectors.

Mazzarella’s expertise encompasses all facets of high finance and business strategy, including capital-raising activities, business valuation, turnarounds, financial restructurings and financial modeling. Most recently, he provided Fidelity Strategic Investments and its portfolio companies with financial and business-planning advisory services. He also served as CFO of MetroRED Telecom Group, a Fidelity Strategic Investments company and broadband provider to corporations in Latin America.

As treasurer and CFO of WorldSpace Corporation, which pioneered the development of satellite radio and founded a division that later became XM Radio, Mazzarella helped transform the private company of less than 30 employees to a multinational company positioned for a public offering. He also has worked in the United States and abroad for PepsiCola International and Eli Lilly & Co.

A graduate of George Washington University, Mazzarella holds an MBA in finance and international business from New York University.

Kay Dougherty

Vice President, Marketing and Product Management

Kay DoughertyAs vice president of marketing and product management, Kay Dougherty oversees all of Veritude's marketing strategy, new product development and corporate communications. Since joining the company in 2006, she has rebranded Veritude in the marketplace, including a redesign of the corporate website, collateral, and print and online advertising, as well as the launch of a new website for job candidates. Dougherty has also increased awareness of Veritude in key markets, established on-going primary research and thought leadership programs, and developed new lead generation processes.

Prior to joining Veritude, Dougherty was a marketing executive at Towers Perrin, serving as director of marketing for the firm's Retirement practice and then as director of marketing for the Benefits Outsourcing practice. In this capacity, she served as a key member of the team that launched ExcellerateHRO, a jointly owned HRO business created by EDS and Towers Perrin. Dougherty subsequently served as marketing director at ExcellerateHRO before coming to Veritude. A senior marketing professional with 20 years of experience, Dougherty was also previously a vice president of marketing at Fidelity Investments and earlier in her career held leadership positions at T. Rowe Price and Citibank.

Dougherty holds an M.S.B. from The Johns Hopkins University Carey Business School and a B.S. from the University of Pittsburgh.

James (Jim) F. McCoy

Senior Vice President, Consulting Services

James McCoyJim McCoy is responsible for managing Veritude’s consulting services business.  He joined the company as a sales executive in February 2003, and in that role, he sold Veritude’s first recruitment process outsourcing (RPO) and built the consulting services practice.  The latter was established as a separate business line in 2005 and, as vice president, Consulting Services, he grew the business nearly three-fold.  He was promoted to his current role in January 2007.

Previously, McCoy was a client sales executive at EDS, held management positions at BankBoston, was a product manager at First Chicago NBD and a market manager at Chase Manhattan Bank.  A certified treasury professional, he has a bachelor’s of arts degree in Economics and Political Science from Northwestern University.

Joseph M. Collins

Senior Vice President, Client Relationship Management

Joe CollinsCollins is a senior HR and organizational development executive with more than 15 years of experience. He was the founder and principal consultant at Collins Edge Executive Consulting. Before that, Collins was senior vice president, Human Resources, Institutional Retirement Group at Fidelity Investments which included Fidelity’s HR Outsourcing Business. In addition, Collins was the vice president, Human Resources, Institutional Services Company, which sold Fidelity products to banks, broker-dealers, insurance companies, financial advisors and government agencies. At Veritude, prior to his CRM responsibility, Collins served as the CAO which encompassed, human resources, employee communications and facilities management.

Earlier in his career, he was the director, Corporate Training Center, at FMR Corp. for Fidelity, director, Corporate Learning Center, at Interactive Data Corporation and a human resources representative at INCO Limited.

Collins holds a master's degree from Harvard University and a bachelor's degree from University of Massachusetts.

Timothy (Tim) M. Riley

Senior Vice President, Human Resources

Tim RileyFor almost 30 years Tim Riley has built a solid career devoted to human resource development, management and labor relations. He has extensive experience leading integration efforts and creating performance improvements for organizations with operations in the U.S. and abroad. As senior vice president of Human Resources for Veritude, Riley provides strategic HR leadership to support organic growth as well as leads the workforce integration of acquisitions that help accelerate the company’s market penetration.

Prior to joining Veritude, Riley spent nearly ten years at Forrester Research serving as the company’s "Chief People Officer," responsible for talent acquisition, retention, employee development and organizational change. During his tenure at Forrester, he established scalable global HR infrastructure systems for key areas including recruiting, compensation and training. Riley also served as vice president of HR for Renaissance Solutions, where he directed the HR function from start-up through an IPO, three acquisitions, and growth to the $100 million level in less than four years. Earlier in his career, Riley was the director of HR for Bolt Beranek and Newman and Interactive Training Systems.

Riley is a frequent contributor to articles focused on HR and leadership issues and has provided commentary in the Harvard Business Review and Motivational Strategies magazine. He holds a master’s degree in Labor and Industrial Relations from Michigan State University and a bachelor’s degree from Brigham Young University.
